As an elementary art teacher, I noticed that books on SHAPE are often geared toward very young children. They focus on teaching the names of simple shapes and stop there.

After researching the math standards for kindergarten through second grade and incorporating that with the art standards, I wrote a book that would not only teach the names of shapes but so much more.

With Alfred the Ape Knows His Shapes, children will

• Learn the difference between two-dimensional shapes and three-dimensional forms
• Understand what makes organic shapes different from geometric shapes
